  1. Print this interview guide.

  2. Write 5 original questions and select 10 more from the list.

  3. Email of hand the questions to your relative in advance.

  4. Call or speak with them personally to collect the answer to these questions on a separate piece of paper.

  5. Use your notes to create a rough draft of your biographical narrative.

  6. Use the writing process steps to improve your ideas, organization, style and voice.

  7. Publish your work.

  8. Share it with the class.
